Description
The CCNSG National Safety Passport ‘Test only Renewal’ course is a one-hour refresher course that builds on the areas covered during the two-day CCNSG National Safety Passport course.
Traditionally the CCNSG National Safety Passport Renewal was delivered with a tutorial for a full day but you can also renew by completing a test only at one of our centres, which will take approximately one hour.
We now also offer a pre-test revision session which can be booked in conjunction with the Test Only Renewal here.
You will undertake the test on-line in one of our centres supported by one of our invigilators.
The test only offers a selection of Health & Safety and work practices multi choice questions and answers. This will allow you to come in and sit the test and get an instant answer of whether or not you have passed it.
Taking this course enables the delegates’ current passport to be renewed for a further three years.
IMPORTANT
Delegates MUST renew their card BEFORE the card expires. The Safety Passport can be renewed anytime and your new card will now be valid for 39 months from your renewal date.
Delegates can only sit the ‘Test only Renewal’ twice before having to sit the one-day renewal in the classroom. So they can renew at three-years and six-years via the test only and the ninth year would have to be the one-day renewal in the classroom.
If the card has expired, Passport holders will be required to take the full two-day CCNSG National Safety Passport course.
Keeping CCNSG Safety Passports up to date ensures that Health and Safety training requirements for many engineering constructions sites has been met.

Optional Revision Session
Before sitting your test, refresh your knowledge and build confidence with NLT Training Services’ Test Only Revision Session (£25 +VAT). This pre-test video, is only available at an NLT training centre. Delivered by an NLT CCNSG trainer, it explains exactly what to expect, how to complete the test and guides you through each of the 15 subject areas to help refresh your memory. Designed to be undertaken immediately before you sit the test, the session gives you a clear, focused recap so you feel prepared and ready to complete your assessment.

Who Should Undertake CCNSG Test-Only Renewal
The course is for employees, contractors and self-employed tradespeople who already hold their CCNSG National Safety Passport. Delegates will need to have a current and valid CCNSG National Safety Passport that is within three months of its expiry date.
Delegates MUST renew their card BEFORE the card expires. The Safety Passport can be renewed up to 6 months prior to the expiry date.
If the card has expired, Passport holders will be required to take the full two-day CCNSG National Safety Passport course.
Assessment:
Assessment is by individual multiple-choice on-line tests. The pass mark is 80%.
Certification:
Following successful assessment, delegates will be issued with a temporary passport, valid for six weeks. A new safety passport will be issued within approximately three weeks.
The ‘test only renewal’ CCNSG Safety Passport is for those who are continually working in the industry and updating their Health and Safety knowledge within their company as part of your normal day activities. Simply attend one of our centres and sit the test only to renew your safety passport.
To be able to complete the test only you must ensure you have updated yourself in the following areas:
- Understanding of your legal rights and responsibilities in regards to Health and Safety.
- Awareness of the importance of safe and good behaviour at work.
- Awareness of safe site systems, including confined space entry and permits to work.
- Understanding of solutions at work.
As a result of taking the test only you will receive an updated CCNSG National Safety Passport valid for a further three years.
