Description
This course is designed for those who want to go into the construction business and have no previous experience or safety knowledge of the industry.
This course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk. It provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as standard training for all operatives on site.
Who should attend: This course would be for those individuals who intend to work on a construction site and need Health and Safety awareness training beforehand.
Assessment: All individuals will be assessed on the day to achieve the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme Level 1 award. The CITB test will be done online at a local testing centre. This will be arranged by NLT on your behalf.
Certification: Successful candidates will achieve a level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction environment, accredited by the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme.
You must also pass the CITB Health Safety Environment Operators Test which is done online, to apply for your Green Card.
Important Update (February 2025):
Changes to the CSCS Green Card mean that an initial card will now only be valid for 2 years. To renew for the full 5-year period, you will need to provide evidence that you are still working in a labouring role.
