
Abrasive/Grinding Wheels Safety Training
Description
This training course relates to the ‘PUWER 1998’ regulations and ensures those involved become competent to operate abrasive or grinding wheels at the right levels. As an employer, it is your responsibility to ensure that those who are working with abrasive and grinding wheels can operate and change them safely, effectively and competently. It can be delivered to groups in your company and is very ‘hands on’. The course duration is half a day.
Who should attend: Anyone in the workplace who is working with abrasive or grinding wheels.
Assessment: Assessment is made on competency through the training period.
Certification: This course is non-accredited, but an attendance certificate will be issued.
This course covers the following modules:
- The safe use of grinding and abrasive wheels within the workplace
- When it is appropriate to use either
- Safe techniques
- Understanding of just what the grinding or abrasive wheel can achieve
