With the CCNSG renewal grace period having ended on the 31 March earlier this year, NLT has released CCNSG one-day and test only course dates for January – April 2023 to ensure people have ample time to renew their cards ahead of them expiring.

“Despite the grace period for the CCNSG card ending nine months ago there are still people who are not aware and arrive for the one-day renewal course at NLT with an expired card,” said Sarah Temperton, chief Executive of NLT Training Services. “When this happens there is no option other than to take the full two-day course.”

In addition to dates for CCNSG (Client Contractor National Safety Group) Safety Pass one – day and test-only renewals, NLT has also released course dates for the full two-day CCNSG course, the full MPQC/SPA Safety Passport and also the one-day renewal and the CSCS Construction Safety Card – Green Card.

Course dates for all CCNSG, MPQC/SPA and CSCS courses are available at NLT’s training centres in Chesterfield in Derbyshire and Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire and can be booked online.

2022 has seen several changes to the CCNSG and CSCS cards. The ending of the CCNSG renewal grace period was swiftly followed by the introduction of the CSCS Smart Check app on 1 April. The CSCS Smart Check app allows all 2.1 million cards in the construction industry displaying the CSCS logo to be verified using a single app.

The app was introduced to enable organisations and their on-site card checkers to have a quick, easy and secure way of ensuring everyone on site has the right qualifications and training for the job they do.

To further help organisations and their employees have the right qualifications and training for the job they do, in 2022 NLT introduced a comprehensive range of accredited online health and safety and Chartered Management Institute (CMI) leadership and management courses.

The courses, which include CMI Bitesize Level 5, Project Management Essentials Training, Health and Safety for Managers, Working at Height and LOLER, are allowing people to learn at their own pace while also enabling organisations to upskill their workforce cost and time effectively.

Sarah added: “Covid showed us all that learning can take place in a range of settings so we have invested heavily in our online learning provision in 2022 and introduced nearly 100 online courses which can all be accessed via the NLT website.”
