New CMI Bitesize helps employers meet EDI responsibilities with hybrid and WFH employees
Businesses are being urged by NLT Training services not to overlook their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) responsibilities when it comes to introducing new working arrangements for employees.
With an estimated five million employees in UK organisations facing exclusion at work, the post Covid return to the office, hybrid working and working from home has placed EDI in the spotlight for many businesses. The introduction of new ways of working has resulted in some staff requiring additional support and reassurance which, when overlooked by an employer, can lead to increased absenteeism and resignations.
To assist businesses with their EDI responsibilities, Managing Equality, Diversion and Inclusion is one of seven short online programmes accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) available within Bitesize Level 5.
The modules are aimed at aspiring or practicing middle managers. The EDI module, which is completed online, aims to enable leaders to develop an in depth understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion at an operational and strategic level respectively.
All seven module are available to purchase online at https://www.nlt-training.co.uk/course/bitesize-level-5/. Once purchased, the module is available immediately to complete.
Sarah Temperton, Chief Executive of NLT Training Services explained: “A lot of companies have adopted a hybrid working model following the pandemic and it’s important for them to understand the mental impact that can have on people they employ. The EDI units within our Leadership and Management courses aim to give practical solutions for those employers who want to ensure the wellbeing of all their employees whether they are office or home based.”
All the modules within Bitesize Level 5 cost just £125 each and are all aligned to key management and leadership topics relevant in today’s world. More than 85% of managers who have completed them agree their leadership and management qualifications improved their performance.
Organisations which employ and engage with people who have a range of different backgrounds, experiences have been proven to perform better. A diverse workforce increases creativity and leads to better problems solving and decision-making.
“There’s a moral, financial and legal responsibility for businesses to ensure the wellbeing of all their staff,” added Sarah
