
First Aid for Mental Health Level 2
Description
Make your staff aware of mental health difficulties and create a positive mental health culture in your workplace.
This course will give learners the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions in their colleagues. They will gain the skills needed to start a conversation with an individual and could signpost towards professional help whilst creating a mental health action plan and create a positive mental health culture.
Who should attend: Anyone. This gives a good understanding of mental health conditions.
Assessment: Assessment is made and tested within the duration of teaching
Certification: This Level 2 course is accredited through NUCO Training.
This course covers the following modules:
- What is Mental Health?
- Why people develop mental health conditions
- What the role of a mental health first aider is
- Knowing how to provide advice and practical support
- Knowing how to recognise and manage stress
- Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health
- Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place
- Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace
- Recognising a range of mental health conditions – depression, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders, self-harm.
