“My Level 5 Business Coaching and Mentoring qualification has given me an extra level of confidence to support people in my job,” said Dawn Reay a quality standard specialist at Babington, an apprentice training provider.

Dawn, who is based in the North East of England, recently completed her CMI-accredited Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring certificate with NLT Training Services.

Completed remotely, Dawn finished the course and achieved certification in just four months.

She explained why the course appealed to her: “I have a new role in Babington which involves supporting the skills coaches for learning and development in the business. Although I have many years of experience in the training and skills sector, I was keen to gain a qualification that was specific to my role.

“I previously completed the Level 5 Leadership and Management course and found it really useful so knew that I would get a lot out of also having a recognised coaching and mentoring qualification. There was even some cross-over with the Business Coaching and Mentoring course content which I really enjoyed as it refreshed my knowledge.”

Dawn was mentored throughout the course by NLT assessor Steven Temperton. She praised the content and support she received saying: “The worksheets were really good, and I felt really supported throughout the course by Steven. For me, email worked best when it came to asking questions and gaining feedback as I could easily fit that in around my day job. Steven, however, made it clear that he was happy to speak on the phone or do video calls too.”

Now immersed in her new role with Babington, Dawn is enjoying practising everything she has learned on the course. “Having the qualification has given me the opportunity to step into coaching roles in the future. I am very pleased that I have done the course.”

In addition to the Level 5 Business Coaching and Mentoring course undertaken by Dawn, NLT Training Services offers a range of Leadership and Management courses at levels 3, 5, and 7, accredited through the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

The courses are all designed for people like Dawn who are already within the workplace but are keen to enhance their skills and knowledge with an industry-recognised qualification.
