NLT Training Services has received almost £7,000 in grant funding, enabling it to expand the delivery of its popular CCNSG Test Only Renewal course across the East Midlands.

The ERDF funding which NLT accessed through the D2N2 Growth Hub, will enable the training provider to purchase a number of laptops and improve IT systems.

The investment in IT equipment and systems now means that even more people can undertake the one-hour test only course at NLT’s sites in Chesterfield and Scunthorpe.

Since offering the CCNSG ‘Test Only’ Renewal last year, NLT has been swamped with demand. NLT was one of the first training providers in the region to deliver the online multiple-choice course, which is for existing CCNSG passport holders and is regulated by ECITB. It enables attendees to limit their time in a training room minimising their Covid exposure and also, more importantly, to return to work the same day.

Prior to the introduction of the test-only renewal for the CCNSG National Safety Passport the course was a full-day course.

Sarah Temperton, Chief Executive of NLT Training Services, explained: “The test-only option has been a real success and real a step forward for the industry. It has been welcomed by contractors who appreciate the fact that they no longer have to sacrifice an entire day’s work to renew their CCNSG Safety Passport, so we were keen to expand our delivery of the course.

“The grant funding has enabled us to purchase a number of laptops and improve the IT connectivity at NLT, meaning we can now fully meet the demands of our customers.”
