Richard Theaker

Richard Theaker, who is also known by many as Rick, is the latest training associate to join NLT Training Services and we’re delighted to have him onboard.

A Construction Health and Safety Freelance Consultant, Rick will be delivering NLT’s CCNSG National Safety Passport and CSCS Safety Awareness equivalent courses.

Although new to NLT’s team of training associates, Rick has around 25 years of experience in the health and safety sector, making him well-placed to deliver our courses.

We asked him a few questions:

Why did you get into the industry?

I have a passion for Health and Safety and absolutely love delivering training. I’ve worked in the construction sector my whole life and am very familiar with building sites, so I was always interested in training. I really enjoy it and look forward to working with NLT to reach more businesses and individuals with high-quality training.

How does your background in construction benefit the training environment?

I have actually been out inspecting buildings/building sites so it means I’ve seen both sides of the coin. Having this real experience really helps when I’m delivering the training as people know that I’ve been there and done it myself.

What are your interests outside work?

I’m an avid collector of a number of things, including stamps, glassware and other items. I’ve always got one eye on eBay and sometimes attend auctions to see if I can grab myself a bargain! I also enjoy taking part in charitable fundraising.
