Staff from Ashgate Hospicecare recently popped in to NLT’s Chesterfield office to collect a £650 donation.

The money has been raised by NLT staff over the last 12 months through a whole raft of fundraising activities, including wearing Christmas jumpers, holding raffles and selling Christmas tree tags.

The money will contribute to Ashgate Hospicecare’s 21-bed in patient unit, a 16-place day hospice and a range of therapy and support services on site it provides to people with life-limiting illnesses. Services are funded mainly through donations and are provided free of charge to patients and their families. The majority of services delivered are in the community, enabling people to stay at home. According to Ashgate Hospicecare’s website, every £54 raised could pay for a patient to attend its day hospice.

Ashgate Hospicecare is NLT’s nominated charity in Chesterfield and has been supported for a number of years by staff holding fundraising events. Recently staff took part in Ashgate Hospicecare’s own ‘Care for a Cuppa’ event which involved selling a selection of delicious cakes baked by staff and their families.

Staff based at NLT’s Scunthorpe office have nominated Lindsey Lodge Hospice as their charity to benefit from fundraising activities throughout the year.
