Course Objectives
• To assist participants achieve basic engineering skills and/or build on skills they already have
• To assist participants gain a nationally recognised qualification
• To improve the skills level of an Employer’s Workforce
Course Content
After induction to the programme candidates will be required to provide evidence of competence, plus an understanding of underpinning knowledge for the following NVQ units

PEO2/003 Using and Communicating Technical Information
Group B Units - three units must be completed
PEO2/005 Producing components using hand fitting techniques
PEO2/006 Producing mechanical assemblies
PEO2/011 Preparing and using lathes for turning operations
PE02/012 Preparing and using milling machines
PE02/013 Preparing and using grinding machines
PE02/014 Preparing and proving CNC machine tool programs
PE02/015 Preparing and using CNC turning machines
PE02/016 Preparing and using CNC milling machines
PE02/017 Preparing and using CNC machining centres
PE02/019 Maintaining mechanical devices and equipment
PE02/020 Assembling and testing fluid power systems
PE02/021 Maintaining fluid power equipment
PE02/024 Cutting and shaping materials using thermal cutting equipment
PE02/027 Preparing and using manual metal arc welding equipment
PE02/028 Preparing and using manual TIG or plasma-arc welding equipment
