Course Objectives
• To enable participants to achieve work based competences in Metal Processing Activities
• To assist participants gain a nationally recognised qualification
• To improve the skills level of an Employer’s Workforce

Course Content
The pathway for this course is:-

Metal Processing

After induction to the programme candidates will be required to provide evidence of competence for the units that make up a specific pathway. They will also need an understanding of underpinning knowledge for the selected pathway and individual units

Mandatory Units (all four units must be completed)
MPO2/001 : Meet Safety, Health And Environment Requirements In The Workplace
MPO2/002 : Support The Achievement Of Work Objectives
MPO2/003 : Respond tO process problems
MPO2/004 : Support Your Own And Others' Improvements At Work

Optional Units (must complete two units from examples below)
MPO2/009 : Prepare raw materials and equipment for processing
MPO2/014 : Cast metals
MPO2/015 : Prepare for heating
MPO2/017 : Prepare plant and equipment for forming
MPO2/018 : Form metals
MPO2/020 : Prepare for wire and rope manufacture
MPO2/023 : Process feedstock
MPO2/024 : Finish metal products
MPO2/025 : Maintain cooling systems
MPO2/027 : Provide services op a process
MPO2/028 : Operate the process under varying conditions
MPO2/031 : Receive and verify goods and materials entering storage
