Course Objectives
• To enable participants to achieve work based competences in Mechanical Manufacturing Activities
• To assist participants gain a nationally recognised qualification
• To improve the skills level of an Employer’s Workforce

Course Content
There are five pathways that an employer would select from:-

Machine Operating
NC/CNC Machine Operating
Production Assembly
Composite Manufacture
Optical Engineering
Injection Moulding

After induction to the programme candidates will be required to provide evidence of competence for the units that make up a specific pathway. They will also need an understanding of underpinning knowledge for the selected pathway and individual units

Mandatory Units

MME2/001 Complying with Statutory Regulation and Organisational Safety Requirements
MME2/002 Using and Interpreting Engineering Data and Documentation
MME2/003 Working Efficiently and Effectively in Engineering

Optional Units for Production Assembly Pathway (must complete one unit from list below)

MME2/027 Producing Mechanical Sub Assemblies/Assemblies
MME2/028 Assembling Fluid Power Components to Mechanical Assemblies
MME2/029 Assembling Electrical or Electronic Components to Mechanical Equipment
MME2/030 Assembling Pipework Components to Mechanical Equipment

MME2/031 Producing Composite Mouldings using Wet Lay-Up Techniques
MME2/032 Producing Composite Mouldings using Pre-Preg Laminating Techniques
MME2/033 Producing Components by Acrylic Moulding
MME2/034 Vacuum Forming Composite Materials
MME2/036 Identifying Defects in Composite Mouldings
MME2/037 Carrying out Repairs to Composite Mouldings
MME2/038 Applying Surface Finishes to Composite Mouldings
MME2/039 Bonding Composite Mouldings
MME2/040 Producing Composite Assemblies
