Course Objectives
To enable the nominated First Aider to be confident in the theory & practical treatment of casualties

Any employee who is to be a qualified First Aider in the Workplace, to help the employer meet his duty under Health and Safety
(First Aid) Regulations

Course Content
• Resuscitation, Control of Bleeding, Shock
• Management of the Unconscious Casualty
• Contents of First Aid Boxes; Purchasing of First Aid Supplies
• Transportation of Casualties
• Recognition of Miscellaneous Illnesses
• Injuries to Bones, Muscles and Joints
• Minor Injuries, Burns and Scolds
• Poisoning, Eye Irrigation
• Record Keeping
• Personal Hygiene when treating wounds
• References to Hepatitis B & HIV
• Communication and delegation in an emergency

The certificate is valid for 3 years.
Certificates can be renewed by attending a 2 day refresher course, provided the certificate has not expired.
